I have a TC18 with the front loader on it. I'm gettinig a dead spot when I retract the bucket. When you bring the bucket down and tuck it back, there's a spot just before it stops when it will actually flop about before it locks down. All the fluids are up and I've tried to cycle the boom up and down to purge any air out of it but...once I tuck it all the way in, you can move it back out and it will hold the position. Any idea's?

This site has the most information of any forum I've found. It's great...

thanks

Im not quite understanding your terms, they sound contradicting, can you simplify ... Is it happening at the end of the curl, or dump cycle?

Sorry, it's when you roll the bucket to dump. The dead spot happens as you take the bucket back up to scoop. If you take it to the end of the dump cycle and when you start to roll it back up there's like a hesitation before it starts. Then it works great. Better?

I think if you've pushed the lever all the way, you've put it into the regen position. It will take a moment when deactivate that.

I would guess there is air in the cylinder, so when hyd. oil starts flowing, it first has to compress the air.

Do you think that's slop in the pins as the curl cylinders go from push to pull? It seems very familiar to me, but I've never had a new tractor.

I believe its fairly normal, has to do with the regen circuit as mentioned, check your manual, it may mention a dump and regen dump position on your joystick, on my kubota you must push the lever hard over, part way is regen or vise versa, cant remember!:confused2:

I was told to lift the boom up and that would purge the air from the system. And it is loose where it pins together but not enough to cause the hesitation. I'll go back to the book and check it out. It's more a aggravation than anything else but I thought I'd check. Thanks for the help

If your manual isnt helping, try posting in the hydrualics section... Might have alot better luck there.
