O, Paul at diamond said the motor he has on the diamond is set at 40gpm @ 4100psi for my machine. U know wat serial number range the 45gpm @ 4700psi machines are?

Chad, just look and you have all the updates accept the aux Re-Cal, while your in there you might want to get the new turbo guard put on.... its a few hundred dollars of cheap insurance.

Hi all, I just stumbled across this thread while trying to get some info on the CAT HM415 operation. I need to know if the door can be opened independantly of the mulcher head spinning and i thought the best people to ask would be the guys at the levers. Best regards, Danny

Although not one of your original choices, I have a Brushwolf 9000HF on order for my RC100. It's 85" wide, two motors and high flow. Awaiting delivery.

Brushwolf delivered. Only 4 months until something grows that needs cutting. It's a lot of weight out front, I hope it doesn't cause the ASV arms to fracture over time.
Anyone got experience to share with a 85" high flow Brushwolf?

Would one of these work with 20-25 gpm and 2500 psi?

Yes, we have a hydraulic motor that will generate optimum blade speed within this flow range. Many modern skid steers run 3000 psi or higher, and torque is a function of hydraulic pressure. At 2500 psi you may not be able to feed material into the cutter quite as quickly as you could if you had higher pressure. Said another way, it will take the blade carrier and blades longer to recover, or spool back up, from lugging down under a heavy load. However, we have plenty of customers who are getting great results operating under the same hydraulic conditions.

No offense, but honestly the frame of both the Diamond and the Davco look very similar almost like the Diamond copied most of it with the exception of the rotary plate and blades. Tkubista...I've used a Davco 504 extensively on my RC50 so I wonder what the distinct differences that make the Diamond better than the Davco are. Thank you for the information.

Can you provide some specific info related to my earlier post on why the diamond Mower is better than the Davco? I'm sure there are differences, but we both think it looks very similar. Thanks.

Right away I notice a few differences between the two though the Diamond appears, at first glance, to be a reproduction of the Davco. I'm not saying it is, I'm saying that their are some remarkable similarities in design.

What stands out as different, at least from the Davco I owned several years back, is that the Diamond is a three blade system whereas the Davco had a very large disc with 4 blades attached with a puck system. I believe the Davco blades were reversible.

The Davco's push bar was not on chains and it had a flimsy hinge system that didn't last long.

My Davco high flow mower didn't have a case drain on the high flow model. Once it spooled up, between inertia and the direct drive hydraulics, it took awhile to slow down after I cut off the hydraulics.

The Davco didn't have replaceable skids but the overall lines of the cutter could make me mistake the Diamond for a Davco and vice-versa.
The Davco was rated for only 4" but it had a 300 lb disc to provide the inertia for cutting heavy brush. The Diamond is rated at 10"? I would have to question the safety/wisdom of that. I've seen a Brown Tree Cutter come apart on large material.. sending half a blade flying over 150'.
I know I used my Davco in a manner not advised by the manufacturer (lifting up and letting it "chop" the tree down but I had to see what it could do.

I just hope whoever uses the Diamond has Lexan and nobody within striking range for expelled debris. Other than the safety factor associated with rotaries (all brush mowers to be honest), the Diamond looks like a very cool tool and I'd own one just like I'd own a Davco again for certain jobs.
