Who says customer service is dead! Just wanted to share an exchange I had with the Danuser company. It's a little long winded but I was so impressed by these folks that I needed to share it here:
Saw a Danuser MD-6 post driver for sale locally and was interested but couldn't find much info on the internet so I called the company. I didn't want to get into something that would be a nightmare to keep going with no parts or support available. The person I talked to was very nice and said that although that model hadn't been made for a while, all of the wear parts were still available and they still supported it. He said If i decided to buy it to call back with the serial number and he'd send me a free owners manual.
After looking at it I decided it needed to come home with me
Called back today with the serial number to get a maunal on it's way. The person I talked to wasn't in so they connected me to Glen. I explained that I had bought an MD-6 and that I'd like an owners manual. He said no problem, asked for the SN and told me he'd also send a parts manual and a new set of safety stickers. Then he asked me if I had used it yet.. I said no , he said if I had a few minutes and he'd walk me through checking some adjustments. Again , sounds good, these folks sure are nice!
After going over a few things he tells me that my wear parts are in new condition and the driver should have plenty of good years ahead of it. When I need parts they are still available and if I have any problems or questions to just give them a call and they'd get me taken care of.
I was very impressed! These folks have treated me like I spent $20K after buying a used, discontinued driver (made from 1956 - 2004 Glen tells me
) ! I told Glen that with the way they've treated me I can't imagine how they treat someone who buys new equipment! He had a very interesting reply -
He said, "like a customer" - "we make quality, american made products but have to compete with the walmarts of the world. I can't beat the price of a product made in China, but I can build it better and make sure it does everything it's supposed to for our customer" WOW! Then he gave me a little 'by the way' - "I'm Glen Danuser, the 4th generation to run this company, I still answer the phones and EVERY email with this companies name on it comes from me. We've been here for a hundred years because we take care of our customers. We don't make the cheapest products out there, we make good products and stand behind them." He then gave me his e-mail address and phone extension and said if I had any questions or problems with my MD-6 to call and they'd get it straightened out.
This company just made it to the top of my list....
