The extra weight of the Danuser versus one from TSC is a plus...particularly if you encounter rocks.

There are several kinds of replaceable points...dirt, rock, etc...Me, I have the rock points because I can reliably hit rock, sometimes just bounce off of it, sometimes can push on thru.

The auger is attached to the gear shaft via a shear pin....I replaced mine with a bolt...bolt is now twisted making it difficult to remove if I wished to do so. Shear pin keeps you from hurting tractor, but I've not hurt mine, even when stalling tractor when auger gets stuck.

This is making me feel more confident, although you have a could 10+ hp more than me

I'm looking at trying to put a hydraulic downpressure kit on mine. Plan b is weld on a vertical pipe & stack weights on that.

Just so you know when you go look at it, the Danuser F8 is filled with grease not oil. Check the Danuser web site lots of info on there and they are helpful if you call. The F8 is a very very tough unit.

The Danuser F8 is arguably the best PTO powered post hole digger ever made. They are extremely heavy duty and they just really work well. My father-in-law has one that I've used and it worked very well on my NAA Ford (31 PTO hp). They have a 4:1 gear ratio which is lower than most you'll find at the farm store, which puts a lot more torque to the auger from a low hp tractor. The basic digger head was originally designed for the 8N Ford, so your tractor should have plenty of power to run it.

My Danuser auger is almost 40 years old and going strong. **** good Iron.
A PITA to hook up but through trial and error, figured out by attaching the lower links first and with a combination of backing up the tractor and raising the lift arms the top link can be aligned pretty easily.

I have rigged mine so I can add up to 320 lbs of weight if I need it, knowing I'm going to be doing a bunch of holes with rock problems. Before I rigged it this way, I would, on occasion, dangerously, stand on it while it bounced and bounced on a rocky hole.

Ok, at the dealer now. Looks great for the most part. My ink question would be bearings. If worst case these bearings were shot, went out in the near future, etc. are they hard or expensive to replace ?
