Yeah, kind of like slotted disc brakes?

I got jabbed about once every 15 minutes last night by my dad and uncle. Even though I made some work for them, they are having fun at my expense.

I'm working on being the best darn bad example there is.

I certainly meant my comment about the older guys in the shop as a positive. Those guys have probably seen it all. I immediately felt like I had known them for years..

Before I went, I envisioned it being some kind of speed shop where they work on hot rods.. Seeing all of the big diesels made my confidence go way up.

I think a good shop needs:
1 old guy who's done it all
1 middle age guy who does it
1 young guy who is watching and learning

Very true. I'll that all three need an overwhelming desire to do it correctly.

Well, we are at the half way point on the project today. The block is 100% stripped. This week it goes to the machine shop while I order parts. Probably two weeks before we'll get to work on it again.

Main bearings were iffy. We're replacing those as well. Crank surfaces look good though.
