Hey ya'll,
It hit me like a ton of bricks while out in the barn today. All summer long I have been on a quest for the perfect cup holder for my CUT. As I was cleaning out my barn, I uncovered my old mountain bike from my earlier "in-shape" days and there it was, staring back at me. So, for all you who may be on the same quest as I was, Go to your local bike shop and buy one of those wire cage bottle holders. It works great. They will (or at least mine does) hold a 16 ounce coke bottle perfectly...

I like it.

Simple, easy, cheap, adaptable to different liquids.

What more can you ask. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Here is another inexpensive option that you can easily modify to fit just about any bottle made click here

This was my solution. See attachment. Gerard

Here is what I did. I made mine magnetic so I could easily move it to the other tractor, or take it off when I want to.

I used one of those cheap stainless steel magnetic trays. The ring magnet on the bottom of the tray provided a place to drill a hole, and let me attach a wooden disk to the tray with one screw. I attached a piece of 4” PVC pipe to the wood disk, and put a piece of rigid foam insulation in to help keep things cool.

A second piece of pipe (had a piece with the expanded end on it laying around) slips over the base piece, gives me the option to have a shorter holder in the future is I should desire to. Doubt I will want to though.

This photo has a second parts tray sitting on the concrete block, showing the starting point. Actually I think it was holding a screwdriver bit.

It sticks to the fender real well, but I suppose a branch could strip it off. I have not had any problems along those lines though. Water bottle is 1 liter in size. Nice amount and stays cool for a rather long time on a hot day. Of course, on a hot, thirsty day, the water does not stay in the bottle very long!

It will fit on either side, but I generally keep it on the left, as the position control lever is on the right.

Gerald you beat me to the punch on that one. There have been many times while working with my backhoe that I really wished there was some way to hold a drink to quench the thirst. If I set it down by my feet sooner or later I always knock it over before I get a chance to drink. So I guess that will be one more winter project right after I convert my manual rotating chute on my snow-blower to a hydraulic motor. Thanks for the idea. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That's exactly why I had to put one on the BH. Spent more time cleaning up the spill (gets sticky) rather than making progress. Gerard

I found a cup holder made for boats called a Bar Bouy. I used an existing hole in my loader frame and installed it without drilling any new holes into my tractor/loader. Here's a pic cup holder

Blackjack I really like that swivel feature on your cup holder. With that one if you roll the tractor over you won't loose a drop of coffee in the process. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Be careful out there.......

Blackjack,
I have the same type of thing on the fender of my old IH 2444, works great.

For other uses ie Riding mower, etc, I just hot glued flexible magnetic strips to the bottom of soft foam huggies, works great on anything metal.

Sounds like a great idea with the magnetic strips. These days it hard to find much metal on the newer CUTs!

sure that would work, but not on a corona bottle! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I use silicone (see attachment). Gerard

For the corona bottles, I have a zip up huggy for bottles I have rigged the same way. Works good for all drinks, but I don't drink and tractor /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Do a search for the "Chalkey Cup". There was major innovation here on TBN about 3 or 4 years ago. Mark, and HARV, and a few others engineered the most impressive cup to be placed on a tractor.

Here is a link to some pictures.
