The white line is a temporary barrier(2x4) to prevent the horse from entering the 'den'.

There is a paddock in front of the barn/opening for the tractor.

When all of the equipment arrived I thought 'Oh No' what have I done. We need to do a lot of work on the 12 acres. To hire out is not an option - local crews charge way to much - been stung once! I also have some jobs lined up for neighbours. Most of the gear will maintain the road (snow blower, rake, blade etc.) and some will be used to build a round pin* and ridding ring*(eventually) for the horse. *This sealed the deal for the tractor - 'honey I can build all those thing if I had a tractor and all the gear.'

I mowed the field and it took about 45 minutes. I used to do it on my little ride on mower and It would take about 2 hours. I don't mow as much due to fuel costs but I will be doing the pastures probably twice a year now. In the past I would mow them every week - a lot of hours on a little ride on mower
and no AC!!!!!

I can only imagine the work that's involved in what you do. I do a good bit of work for a local farm and the stuff they bring me in for repairs sure keeps it all interesting.

I bet the AC was a big welcome to you for sure and to reduce that amount of time is great as well. Sure nice to get all the goodies with the tractor. That was a wise choice. You look like you got a good thing going there and you take some mighty fine pictures but man that tractor sure looks nice out there in that field.

Mine will basically just have a angle snow plow, a snow blower, and loader. Who knows I might be on my way to be a farmer!

Lloyd, i'm jealous of your barn ! Beautiful place.

From what i understand though, the correct technical term is "beer holder".

Duct, Egon and 4shorts...

I tried beer once on my ride on and in the tractor - too much bouncing around - wasted a good beer! Never again...prefer to wait until the works gets finished than relax, much safer too.

This has been a long road to purchase. I looked at kiotis 4 years ago and was impressed from the start. I did look at other brands but found $$$ a lot higher. The size of tractor also fits my area - getting around buildings etc.

I did have a few more toys on the list but reassessed my needs as the budget didn't allow it. I sold some things to offset the cost as well as lined up a few jobs. I also looked at how much money I could save over the long haul and get projects (some on hold for 3,5,7 years) completed faster. In cleaning up my woods I will be saving around $1200 a year in firewood alone. I will be also selling the composted manure for a modest price which will
offset the fuel costs.

Some neighbours have been good to me over the years so now I can repay them. It all comes around...

Lloyd as they say "all good things come to those who wait" Sure holds true and looks good on you. It's always nice to hear that there are good neighbors out there. It shows ones character when he remembers them as well. You got a great setup there. There's not one of us here that would pass it up. Really enjoy see the pictures you posted.

How do you or will you control the Shute on the blower? Oh yes I meant to mention that the Kubota don't have a sunroof on there Grand cab series :(but then again I could pull the cab off ;)

You have a great day

[projects (some on hold for 3,5,7 years)/QUOTE]

The days of youth where projects of long duration are planned.:D:D:D

Some of us older seniors may make dinner plans at breakfast but delay evening plans for dinner time as the obligation may be too far in the future.:D:D
