With all the repowering going on I figure one of these engines in an industrial configuration would have to be a no brainer in the smaller type forestry mulcher. Can anyone Stateside give us the headsup if Cummins are going to develop it this way?

Nissan is putting the Cummins 5.0 L V8 in the Titan pickup line. I would dare say a crate engine would be readily available for purchase as well.

I'd stay away from any V8 Deisel engine! From all my Dealings with the V8s means more money and a more complicated engine. I'd stick with a inline engine in equipment, mostly cause you will still have some room to work on it in the engine compartment.

The reason for wanting info on this engines are the fact I may not have to stretch the tractor frame to fit it. Most of the areas where I work is undulating to steep and a stretched frame would be a hindrance. A V engine is not that bad to service if care is taken when fitting, have worked on plenty in the past including Cat3208s, Cummins 504,555,903s and GMs V6 and 8s,most retro fitted. ShearHeadMS you aught to change an engine oil filter or worse a starter motor on a C140 and that's at 4cyl.:scratchchin:
