I have a cub cadet XT42 one year old, 44 hrs on the engine, did oil and filter change last month, today is is making coughing/sputtering sounds with pops that sound like gunshots , what does it want? I checked the oil, it is right at the L level on the stick, someone please help.

There are a lot of things that could cause this.

- 3-year/no hour limit warranty (includes powertrain) and 5-year chassis and front axle unlimited hours.

Check your choke linkage.

Make sure spark plug caps firmly snap on plug.

I have had excellent rapport with Cub Cadet and their service reps. If you sound like you know what you are doing, they will okay you for an on site repair with you not having to worry about messing up the warranty.
