Just brought it home. I found the grease nipples for the mower deck blade shafts underneath the deck. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Doesn't make sense to have to take the deck off, turn it over and grease the shafts. The manual shows the grease nipples on top. Is my mower deck set up right?

Dont sound right to me, I have had 5 cadets and they were all on the top.

Go back to where you bought it and look at another one. Ask whom ever if it is correct. You should have no problems with getting the issue resolved. G

E-mailed Cub Cadet, and they said this is the way it is suppose to be. I bet the first rock that flys up over the blade shears the nipple(s) off. Doesn't make any sense /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif, but I guess I should have been more attentive when looking things over before I bought.

If you have rocks flying over your blades, you'll have bigger problems than sheared nipples.

The 1022 does not have as good of spindles as the rest of the cub cadets. All the other models have roller bearings and are greaseable from the top. The 1022 has a cheaper system. The brochures show that they are all the same, but that is not the case.
