cub cadet 3075 string trimmer problem

i fell for this unit, i love the concept, but after 2 units, and 1 trip to the repair shop for the same problem, i'm beginning to believe its a lemon idea...

this is the one the shaft breaks in half, and you get to buy all kinds of neat accessories to use... great concept for part time farmers like me i got a bunch of the accessories and really do use them, when the unit works...

i think there must be a chronic problem in the joint... the first unit i bought, the socket on the accessory section was reamed out by the drive shaft in the top section...

i traded it in on warranty... the 2nd unit didn't ream out, but it stopped turning the the trimmer head... i could hear the drive shaft turning, but the trimmer head wouldn't...

i took it to the repair shop... and after a while, its done it again... i can take the unit apart, snap it back together, and it will work for a little while...

i'm headed to the repair shop in the morning... but maybe someone here can give me some insight on this... i'm thinking about swapping it in...

its got really low hours... we've been in severe drought conditions here for 2 years in southern KY... so i hardly even mowed the yard, i think 4 times last summer... and rarely trimmed... even the weeds didn't grow...
