I remember a posting a little while ago that he was battling a virus infection (computer, not personal). Maybe it got the better of him and he had to take the site down to clean it up.

I googled up Hal, he has a number of personal websites, as well as his business and CTOA. All of the links seem to be similarly afflicted, so it's not just CTOA, it's Hal or his provider.

I know he has been involved in some tussles with the City Council and Mayor of Hardy, Arkansas. Maybe they hired some cyber-hitmen, and they're trying to put Hal in the cyber-cemetery.

I hope that comes across as funny, it's what I meant it to be, anyhow.

Actually, I've left a voice mail for him, perhaps he'll get back to me with some info.

I just hope it isn't a case of his failing to pay the hosting fees because he's sick or in trouble. I've sen that happen a few times and if Hal needs some assistance I'd be happy to do what I can. Let us know what, if anything, you hear form him, will you?

I think the main advantage to the members of a pay site is that it keeps the trolls and gaudy advertising to a minimum.
It has been suggested for the Chinese dozer owners to request their own section on TBN or to migrate to another site, although there would be a lack of continuity. There are currently issues of interest to dozer owners that are pending and need to be addressed. I sincerely hope Hal can resolve his issues in a timely manner so we can all move forward.

Hal returned my call. It is, as was suspected, a case of the mal-ware troubles making an appearance.

He said I should tell folks that he should be back up in the next day or two, that all of his websites were hit, and he has hired a firm to scrub everything before going back up.

I'm not CTOA bashing but I gave up on it because Hal kept "improving" the site and flushing all the posts into never never land. Sure they're archived for a while but not easily accessible. These sites become worthless if all the months of important repair tips, videos, images and discussions vanish overnight.

The posts and information are the only reason to belong. Hal seems to want to go the route of turning CTOA into a social network.

I wish him luck getting it all worked out.

I would not call it bashing when you are just stating the facts. I believe posts have been flushed 3 or more times. I only use the CTOA site because Bob Rooks posts there and I value his knowledge. Where he goes, I go.
