ror105,

Put a Wyeth-Scott power puller hand winch on your "GET" list. They are great for when nature tries to eat your tractor.

The gang is pretty merciless, today, so I'll just toss out that I did almost exactly the same thing the first year I had my tractor. Went into a wet area with nothing on the 3pt, scooped up a full bucket, lifted, started to go forward and then the front end dropped in to the miasma of muck and ooze, up and over the front axle. Was able to push myself out using the FEL (lucky that I remembered someone on here mentioned that). Made a huge mess. Took a quick look around to see if I could put all the muck back where it was, throw some straw over it and deny that it ever happened, if asked, when I spied The Plant Manager, her arms akimbo and giving me that steely eye stare. So now you are "experienced". welcome to the club!

Merciless is right! Looks like a firing squad! I say thanks for posting the pic, we will do our best from our arm chair quarterback position to keep you from repeating history. I will admit I have done very much the same thing and thats how i learned not to do it. Look at all the fun your having though! happy tractoring!

Nice work getting it out! My yard decided to eat my tractor too. A couple hours with a shovel and some 2X10's
and I had it out.

Leaning over 30 degrees & ROPS is down .....
Well you are half way right, ROPS is half way down but still looks like it would stop a roll over. I guess that is the position that he has to put it in to get it in his shed and just forgot to put it back up. One good reason to modify the shed, too many folks leave it down so it is no better than the 40s-70s model tractors when no one ever thought about a ROPS.
I don't think he is more than 10 degrees off if that much and no danger of tipping from the position he is in at the point of taking the photo. A little shove with the FEL would have gotten him off high center and then he could have gotten out without assistance IMO.

Merciless is correct the backhoe was in the garage I did pull in at 90 I had to turn to the left to go up the creek which is how I got into the situation I was in I put the ROPS back down in order to hop off to get the rope to tie the 4runner to it.

It was soup as soon as I turn to the left it just kept sinking.

In hindsight if I did have the backhoe on I believe I would have tore the yard up much more

But I could see how you would jump to the obvious it did look like a pretty bonehead move

Hey, it ain't no "thang".. we have all been stuck. First 2 weeks of owning my first tractor, I stuck it good. After working on it for a few hours, and making sure it was "really really stuck". I called for the neighbors assistance. He being older and wiser, didn't get too excited, and told me to get my 4wd Ford explorer and my cable and go downhill about 60 foot and he operated the tractor, locked the right wheel brake, cut the front wheels to the right and applied a little power to the left wheel and tire and the explorer slid the tractor around sideways and right out in a few seconds. I was amazed, and actually learned something too! "Don't sweat the small stuff, and it is all small stuff":)

Heh, don't give it a second thought. I bet most everyone here has been stuck at one time or another. I know I have! I just try not to do the same thing twice.... :)
