Cranks, black smoke, blips, but won't start?

I borrowed my neighbors NH 7308. Ran for about 45 min. Died on me now I can't get it to run. It crznks, tries to stsrt then dies. I filled the tank. I bleed the injector lines. It blows black smoke. What do I try next?

Change the fuel filter, drain out some fuel (water)?

Give him a call and tell him what happened. If I loaned out my equipment and you had problems with it, please call before you wrench on it.

Check the air filter. Knock out any dust. Ensure you have a clear air passage to the engine intake. Black smoke and a failure to run frequently indicates a very dirty air filter.

Thanks all. I have borrowed this tractor before. He asked me to service it a year and half ago. I checked the air filter it's OK. Replaced 10/19. Fuel filter looks good. Fuel bowl is full. I did call him. He didn't have any tips or tricks for me. Said I know more about than he does. I charged the battery over night and will give it ago here shortly. Wish me luck.

A 7308 is a Ford loader model.

I think it 's a TC29. Anyway I found there was a partial blockage in the fuel line from the tank to the fuel bowl. I blew it out with a air tank. Now it run s like before.
