Craigslist Find - Is this what I think it is?

Been looking to add a Box Blade to the implement fleet and I found this older posting on CL. Not really sure if it's still available as it's over a month old - but just in case ...

From what I can find on the internet, this looks like an old Gannon Roll Over - yes?

So the questions:
Is it what I think it is? IF not then what is it?
What things should I look at in person to determine condition?
And where are we on the "fairness" scale with the price?

Oh - one other question - Too much blade for a 35 HP tractor?

As far as condition I'm not scared of surface rust & I know full well paint is just cosmetic - I'm more concerned about stress areas to look for cracks, bad bearings, etc.

Your tractor can handle it... I would have them pick it up to make sure that the rollover feature works. Look for bends and cracks - I rarely get an implement that doesn't need some welding.

The price is not too bad...

Yes it's a box scraper with adjustable scarifiers....nice having them adjustable rather than having to do a lot of undoing/redoing if not. Seems it has already suffered through the break-in process. Attachment of the 3 pt mounting bracket looks like a scab on but appears to be holding. Even if it's not, agree with teg that you may have some touch up welding to do. Otherwise looks like a good husky (heavy.....desirable) unit.

Check the springs that return the handle to the lock position,mine are broken and a ***** to change.

I thought so too at first but looking at the above units as well as the current offerings by Woods (bought out Gannon I believe) - that just seems to be their "style"

I would see if it's available first... not much work to check first.

If that Gannon ROBB is still available, just buy it for the $400. Well worth it. Teeth are on the shanks backwards, but not that big of a deal.

I would also say that there is a good chance that even if the cutting edges are worn a bit, they can just be flipped and you have new edges to start with if desired.
