Is it possible to weld the mounting flange on a hydraulic cyliner? I don't know if these are cast iron or cast steel. Is this weldable.JPG

I think a certified welder could do it but it might be cheaper in the long run to just replace the cylinder.

You can buy most of the parts for tierod cyls.

can be welded with cast iron nickel rod, but by the time you strip it down (cuz the preheat and weld will cook the seals), weld and repack you'll find it's time to replace it with a new one and get back to work.....:2cents:

If you have a used cyl kicking around for the donor part, then it might be worth it

AGRI SUPPLY sells just the cylinder clevis end for 2"-4" (in 1/2" interals) cylinders. $10-$20. Not sure if they are all the same (as will fit different brands of cylinders) or not. They say Grizzly brand.

I have welded the cast steel ones before until the new part arrives, but like everyone is saying just buy the replacement end. CJ
