When I bought my CK30 the grey cowling in front of the battery was broken. The previous owner said he had it around somewhere but never came up with it. I bought a new one and the screen from Wallace Tractors. I can't get the screen to stay on those little plastic pegs by friction. Is there a fastener that is supposed to go on the plastic pegs to keep it on? Or am I supposed to be practiced in the art of screen origami so that it stays on without fasteners?

In the first pic, looks like some old weld on that stud. I wonder if originally it might have been tack welded in place. I bet you could get some push nuts to hold it on (kind of like the ones found on wheel studs that hold brake drums)

Bet that stock cowling looks better than the plastic milk crate that I cut to fit and painted black. ;)

Push nuts would be the answer if you can find the right size, otherwise, use spacers over the pegs to push the screen in and hold them in place with short, large head sheet metal screws (it looks like the pegs have a hole in the center).

If you go to Napa they should be able to whip out a big display book of auto body fastners---I bet you could find some nuts intended to screw down over unthreaded plastic nubs like that...GM uses them on the backsides of door panels

The OEM screen was attached to those plastic studs with push on fasteners. They are like little discs with a phillips head screwdriver tip pushed through them so as you push the clip over the stud it spreads the teeth and won't come back off. You need the little clips.
