What should it cost to have 2 hooks and a clevis welded on a FIL? I supplied the hardware.

Shouldn't be too much. Nothing outrageous at all. I'd say if you can catch a welder on a job with a service truck or a local machine shop with the doors open and an empty shop, or a buddy..... should be reasonable of US$25 - US$50 maybe????

A case of Corona is about US$25.00 or less...

What did they quote you?

A used stick welder is pretty cheap.

I had a $40 quote. It includes welding plates on first then adding the hooks and clevis.

Sounds OK to me.

Cost has a high range. Some shops will just do it and send you on your way. The shop gets a long term customer and they don't have to do a bunch of paper work that probably costs them as much as the job!

Other shops may charge you for an hour of time. Assuming you bring the machine or bucket to them

If you want to minimize costs and have a good result, strip off the paint from the area you want the hooks and any supports added. Then clean up and repaint after it's attached.

For me, getting the stuff to a shop is about an hour's work each direction. It was cheaper to get a 255 amp mig welder. (That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!)

A reasonable quote. I don't think you are getting ripped off, if that is your concern.

My dealer welded them on for free when I bought the tractor.

Now if you look through my posts, you will observe that I have a high opinion of the dealer - but that is only one small reason.
