I'd say there's a 50/50 chance drive through windows will get shut down if the new measures do not keep the curve down...most drive through windows don't have credit card ports that the driver can access so there is a lot of back and forth handling of cash and cards...How many cases of DT employees will it take?

IMO CC companies should be sending all their card holders cheap styluses so they do not have to handle public ones...

Here in Canada cards are tap. (No touching keypads/ no handing cards over. )

Wife and I went to several stores today. No TP.
A Walmart clerk said they sold completely out early this morning when they got in a shipment.

So we got paper towels instead. I told the check out lady I have a band saw.
"The things you worry about the most never come true." ------ Dad (rip)
We had lunch at a local restaurant we frequent. Today no menus, salt, pepper, sugar. Waitress tells you what they have and brings whatever you need.
"They must take me for a fool, or even worse a lunatic." ------ Don Quixote
It occurred to me I've lived through so many crises. When I started investing the DJIA was in the 900s. Then on Black Monday I lost $1/2M. $500K in one day.
America has gone through so many wars, hurricanes, fires, tornados, etc., but we're still here. We're strong and resolute.

The stock market is way down...but people are buying supplies faster than shelves can restocked. What an opportunity for a long term investor, especially the young to buy! Especially mutual funds. The key is knowing when and hopefully soon.

IT can be that way here also if there is a reachable port (drive-throughs make it difficult) I guess some debit cards require pin #s ?...

Cash is as bad as handling keypads and it's only a matter of time before someone working a cash register infects a bunch of people...same as merchandise handlers...

The sales person sticks one of these out the window at you. Wave your card over it and it’s done. Touchless.

My wife went to the grocery this morning. We live outside a smaller framing community but as she expected, no TP, no packaged chicken, no pork, little hamburger but lots of Johnsonville Brats which is good with her (and me). Plenty of booze, no bottled water in jugs, plenty of sports drinks, cereal no frozen pizza's. I have a feeling there will be a lot of spoiled food that could have been eaten if people actually used their heads for something other than to space their ears apart.........

Haven't touched the root cellar or the freezers yet. My big concern at this point is, if Martial Law in enacted, the urban rats will come looking and while I don't condone violence, don't come sniffing around here with malicious intent. Won't have a good ending.

Crazy times........

As mentioned this morning I was at the market for work and people were shoplifting and just walking out the door... one went right past me and the clerk asked him to pay and he just kept walking...

The real issue is what happens if/when things get ugly... this is the SF Bay Area after all.

My latest Amazon order arrived today. I scanned both boxes with Bitdefender and Malwarebytes.

All five items are virus-free. :cool2:

We have that here also, but only one of my cards has the capability. It's faster, handier, and allegedly more secure; but hasn't been fully implemented.

I was just reading an article about testing, written by "InvestigateTV". Apparently they were calling various health departments to determine wait times to get through to a real person.
I can't see how much different that is from calling 911 because you're out of toilet paper... both instances are tyng up phone lines and resources to essential services.

Every penny you spend in the retail world can be attributed to what you see or hear...A large part of our economic world revolves around an audio/visual format...everything is about eyeballs and eardrums...whatever it takes to get your attention and your dollars...

IMO...This virus is very much like an approaching storm...no one is 100% sure which way the wind will blow...they (the media) are all doing the same thing nationally/globally that we often see regionally when something like a hurricane is bearing down...

Really, I think they might be shot here in my small city that I am close to, ;)

We got dat here in the states, too. For those of you who watch NFL football, I saw Zach & Julie Ertz & Christian McCaffrey do ads for it.
Wish we all had it. Very wise item in these times.

Don't you hate it when somebody deletes a post just after you've responded or quoted it? It was a pretty lame comment, but I would have left it up if I realized somebody had read it.
