Just got back from the dollar store, Dollar Tree. Plenty of TP, in contrast to local Costco. No sanitizer but plenty of $1 dispenser bottles for DIY blends.

I didn't think to look for alcohol, but I didn't see any empty shelves anywhere.

For anyone who cant find essentials in your customary supermarket, broaden your search. Around here there are big Mexican and VN supermarkets. I would have gone there next if I hadn't found what I was looking for at the first place I stopped. YMMV ...

While connectivity is not a new idea, you have to have the course material on-line before anyone can even attempt to access them. That's the bottleneck, not the technology to do it.

Course material is one thing, the other one is testing. How do you make it so that people can take tests without letting them cheat?

Actually I was not really referring to the WWW per se...it has just given a GUI to the material...I was mostly referring to the downloadable data (99% text) which needs little if any formatting or encoding...
Like I said there is a big difference between being able to watch a lecture (in hi def) by an instructor compared to reading a printed transcript...

In some ways correspondence courses are to today's Internet classrooms like catalog sales in the retail industry...

Something that always bothered me about that film...IIRC...one scene showed him eating raw fish while sitting beside a fire...did I miss something?

one caveat...I'm not a T.H. fan...ever since he tried to come across as a southern man in the gump flick...

I don't worship him because he's an Actor. Court Jester. But I thought he nailed Castaway and Forrest Gump. Can't think of anyone that could have performed those two any better.

You need to let go of the logistical details. It's just a movie (I do that too).

'humor danado'.

Best English translation would be 'bent humor'.

Too late... I saw one advertised on a Navy Community site.

I posted there that this was premature as it isn't over yet and if you bought the t-shirt, then got the virus and died... well, you'd look pretty foolish. :laughing:

In a sense the Internet/computer networks were developed in college computer labs to basically share and disseminate knowledge i.e, teach...
Taking classes on the Internet is hardly novel or new...

Think of all the tax money that could be saved by not constructing all of the university buildings if students attended classes from home. Plus students save room and board if they are at the parents home ..... I have thought this for a long time.

Don’t be too hard on Tom... I went to school with him

Tom was a regular guy... nothing handed to him... worked his way through school waiting tables at the airport Hilton restaurant Amelias.

Graduated Oakland’s Skyline public high school and Hayward’s Chabot community college with Drama classes at both... the last time we spoke he said he was going to New York summer stock theater.

By the way, take care of yourselves everyone. This thing is serious and it's just starting.

We're close to a full shutdown over here. Anything involving sports is fully suspended, schools closed and most public services running at less that 50%. It's getting quite chaotic.

Yup. Same mistake were made in Italy. And it's now happening in Portugal as well. Now it's all over the place.

We still get lots of people that believe it's just a flu and took the Quarantine status as a vacation opportunity.

Just yesterday we had a very nice summer weather and were beaches full of stupid people that can't take things serious.
