Here's a more up-to-date story with emails sent by the head of the school to parents. It has more details as to why the staff member was denied testing, as, apparently, the relative was denied testing for a while as well. The testing will take about 3 days to get results back, so the school is staying closed until then at the least.

You will begin to see a lot more of that happening. Could be a country wide Wuhan lockdown.....

I see Ted Cruz and a couple Senators are in voluntary quarantine because they went to some function that a positive person was at. If course they can 'telework'. Ain't like a blue collar job where they work with their hands. All they work is their mouths....

I wonder what the 'test kit' and procedure consists of? It it a blood draw or a saliva sample? You see the Chinese taking people's temps with an IR thermometer and nothing else. Is that the 'kit', an IR thermometer or is it more involved?

Apparently local supplies of TP are getting wiped out!

Temperature checks every 6 hours is being required for the medical staff in some hospitals. It is just a test for infection but not the kind of infection. Finding the COVID-19 is needed to prove it is the cause of a high temperature.

Looks like one way to "thin the herd" if it is primarily targeting the old, and those who already have underlying health issues. I am 69 so that is old for some...not so old for others. A few years ago, there was talk of "death panels" to ration treatment and not "waste" resources on those who are going to die soon anyway. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. The NWO sucks for old folks.

Makes me wonder what happened when hospitals could not handle the load in China.....and what will happen here if it is more than "just the flu". Not hearing much as to how Italy is handling it except for the lockdown...wonder what the situation is in their hospitals or it they are building more like the Chinese did.

No expert here but I think it is pretty well established as to where (region) it came from.

I did more reading about COVID-19 it can really spread fast like after the first few pops of popcorn and the tipping point happens.

Going shopping, to the movies, therapy of any kind or eating out is starting to give me pause.

So the question then: Why would the CDC block anyone from getting tested?

Yeah, I'd like to see some concrete evidence/proof that CDC blocked a test? In my simple mind that makes no sense. Hopefully someone can explain that with no bias.

That would go into the 'other' thread.

Found out a little while ago a coworker of my wife’s had physical contact recently with someone who tested positive for the virus.

Hoping for a good outcome for all when the coworker is tested.

They came in contact with someone who tested positive, but that was only 24 hours prior and they show no symptoms nor would the virus test be accurate after that short of time. Makes sense that they would not test that early.

This may make sense, it seems if the test would be ineffective, then the person would not be shedding enough virus to be infectious.

I thought the authority to do testing was transferred from the CDC to the states? :confused3: The whole Coronavirus issue is a WIP. Accurate information is hard to come by despite the endless parade of so-called "experts" on TV.

I believe they take a swab, insert it deep into your nose, ditto the throat. Pretty uncomfortable.

I had a Postal Inspection service job that was thought to be compromised by a biological agent.
That swab up the nose was more like a poor mans attempt at a frontal brain lobotomy.
Pretty uncomfortable does not do you statement justice. LOL.

:p

In the little town I live close to (7 miles) we have 1 larger grocery store (Safeway) it is fully stocked with TP, of course they probably don't have as much a need for it in Portland 35-40 miles away they poop in the streets .

NY is deploying the National Guard to New Rochelle.

Various government agencies in the DC area are now implementing TeleWork agreements.

WallyWorld in my immediate are had limited supplies of TP.

HD had ample rolls. As does my immediate Dollliar (sp) store.

Demographics at work?

Has anyone heard why the John Hopkins site changed their mapping so counties are no longer being tracked? Just states now... I'm wondering if some government agency pressured them. The site WAS awesome in that I knew how close cases were to me. I'm assuming most of you are already aware of the site.

I was wondering that myself, looked a bit earlier and previously we had one case in Marion county, looked to be around Stayton, and the rest in Washington county, probably Hillsboro. Now they just have one red dot somewhere in Oregon that says 14 cases.
