I have a jd3320 and am interested in growing & harvesting corn for my animals and was wondering if there was an implement that would work to harvest it. Someone near by had a one row corn picker for sale but said I needed 40 horsepower to opererate it. Any suggestions? Earl M.

If the corn picker is still for sale, it would be the best and cheapest way to harvest it. A one row picker shouldn't take but 20hp if you use your slowest forward gear- especially if its the old type that bolts on to the tractor.

You would then probably need to find an old grinder/mixer and grind the corn and cob along with some hay.

Thanks for replying KYERIC, I don't know what you mean by bolts to the tractor but will find out. Also looking at the picture of it might not be feasible to bring it home from 50 miles away down the highway, but again I will find out.

Pulling the picker is only part of your problem. You have to pull the picker and the wagon behind the picker. I think you're gonna be way underpowered. A grinder/mixer takes quite a bit of Hp too. How many acres/animals are we talking about?
