Copying Bseries loader feasible?

Ericher69 where in Ontario are you located. I am near Brantford Ontario. Last winter I built a FEL for my BX. It turned out very well. Pics link is below.

What I was talking about was to "duplicate" or make an exact copy of the b series loader from the factory...sticker and all!

No I'm not trying to pawn it off as a factory loader but can/could this be done if somebody is motivated/meticulous/patient/good enough to pull this off??

At a little over $4000.00 Canadian for a FEL I am seriously considering attempting this! I have 2 good connections at local steel fab shops and 1 at a scrap yard ( a little sand blasting would hurt) so I think I may still be way ahead.

Only question; Pictures and measuring to the millimeter and cardboard templates or any better suggestions?

Go for it!

This kind of project is a great experience, and it is not done to save money,
esp including the C$1.00/hr for the labor part.

I am a big fan of not reinventing the wheel....you will have plenty to do
in the fabrication process. That is why I decided to buy a set of plans
when I did my CADDigger, rather than figure everything out from scratch.
Copying the Kubota loader exactly, in terms of dimensions, is a good idea.
Note that some parts will have been bent is giant presses, which you can
not do, so those will have to be fabricated in sections.

As for templates vs. stick drawings, I think you will probably use both
methods, depending on what cutting tools you use.

I'm convinced it can be done. I'm not sure it's worth it.

You can get the right paint and decals from a dealer. Where it gets hard is that some pieces of a factory built machine are pre-fab. The home hobby guy like me has to make it from some kind of stock available at the steel supply houses. I looked up pictures of the B-series loaders and the newer ones have the sweeping arms that taper to the pins. This can be done, but the amount of waste created and the amount of fabrication needed will likely push your price real close to a new one. Even the older loaders that don't have the sweeping boom still taper to the pins. I'm sure there are other examples in the fabrication that will make an exact copy somewhat impractical.

If you're willing to make a few concessions vs. the factory unit, I think you can come up with something that's close but not exact.

Don't know if anyone out there has tried this but would it be feasible to "copy" the kubota Bseries loader??

At $4000.00plus from the dealer I do not plan to spend this $$ as I could use it other places ...but would really like a FEL

I have a coworker that has the same machine with FEL and was thinking of copying this loader to the millimeter.

I do not want an aftermarket loader and do not plan on buying P.F. engineering plans.
