had a similar issue with my New Holland.... it was dirt caked on the radiator fins, that got by the screen.

I use a radiator pressure tester to check for air in system when it’s been drained & refilled.
If you have air in system it will take many pumps to build pressure. If there is no air in system the pressure will build within two or 3 pumps.
If there is air in system pressurize it to 10~15 psi then release pressure a couple times to move trapped air. You can then start engine and pressurize it and release pressure a couple times to help.

I also prefer refractometers for coolant concentration measurements. They are not that expensive, and much more reliable and accurate.
I have never made a coolant concentration measurement for flush and refill situations. You already know the concentration is 50%. And if adding coolant I stick with the 50-50 mix.
