If I wanted to convert my 425 aws to what would act as a solid axle, would I just be able to disconnect the linkage and make some type of brackets to bolt it up solid? possibly to the axle with heavy muffler clamps? also, would I then be able to put 26" tires on with a 54" deck? I'm doing this because of the added benifits of the larger tires. I only have two trees i have to mow around so i'm not worried about losing the aws feature. thanks

Sell it and buy one that has straight steering.
Seems like a lot of hassle to go through to disable the rear wheel steer.

I like the benefits of the AWS so much I wouldn't buy a lawn tractor without. Mowing on sidehills is so much better with AWS, as is getting out of a pinch when a wheel loses traction.

But to each their own. :)

Be interested in how you accomplish that feat.
