What size tractor do you have?
Is this the main thing you would be hauling on the flatbed?

Stock trailers are built very heavy. A 20' stock trailer can haul alot of 1200# cattle. I have personaly loaded a 6500# skidloader into one with no probs what so ever. If your tractor is a CUT or SCUT it should fit with the ROPS folded down.
Called my dad and he thinks his is rated for 15K# including the trailer weight (20' goose neck). He bought this one at auction for $500. Had to put a new floor in but that was not that bad of a job.
Stock trailers are also good for trips for lumber and other things, no strapping thinks down, just close the doors and go.....
If what your planning to haul on a flatbed would fit in a stock trailer I would definitly get the stock trailer and forget the flatbed. IMO

thanks for the link.

I haven't measured my tractor, but I would guess that the wheel width is too wide. I'll have to get out there.

Like most of the projects I debate, I'm slowly lowing interest in building something. Next year I'll have more time, but I don't have the material laying around. It seems like this is one of those projects that only makes sense if you have the material and the time.

Thanks.
