I use my Bush Hog MLR 84" rake on my gravel driveway every spring. When I have the rake angled and pitched to create a crown, I get spill out of gravel off the leading edge of the rake. This causes gravel to spill into the grass. I believe I have seen a metal plate that is attached to the first tine to help eliminate this. However, I have not been successful finding a thread describing it or name for it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

loy, I have the same rake, equipped with gauge wheels. Also, I have it fully angled to create a crown. Spillage to the side is minimum because; when I make my first pass, I go beyond the edge of the gravel, into where gravel meets grass. This puts a bit of vegetation into the road, but after I make another pass, the small amount of grass, mixed with gravel; gets disbursed, and dried out. When it rehydrates over time, I believe the plant juices help to solidify some of the gravel. Just my experience on my road.

I try to stay away from the edge if it is in good shape so it has a cleaner look. You could try angling the rake more and going slower on the 1st pass along the edge.

I think the side plate you were seeing was part of a inside drop down blade that York used to have as an option.
