Single line going to the anvil, so a double pulley block welded to the top of the cylinder and a double welded to the I-beam below the cylinder. I could climb up on it and stand on it with the anvil disconnected I guess, see what kind of friction there is. The only other thing left it could be is the control valve right.

In post #9 you figured 360 mm travel in .37 seconds or 973 mm per second (38 inches per second)

Does anyone on this sight no how to calculate theoretical acceleration and velocity?

At this time I would be purely guessing to say you have a problem with valve.

I haven't given enough information to calculate the theoretical speed at the bottom. But I'm sure it is not a natural fall.

I will get back into it once the rain stops. Will report back once I figure it out. Thanks for your perseverance.
