Hi. I'm pretty new here-I've been looking around for a while, just haven't posted until now. I was wondering if anyone here has purchased a container or partial to help pay for the tractor they wanted, and if you had any luck with it? And, if so, about what was the per-unit cost? All stories wanted, happy or horror. Thanks
Chris

I can supply you with a container of tractors, but do you know what you are getting into? Do you have the money to buy 8-10 tractors( you pay when you order them); a way to unload them ( they don't come with the wheels on); & the time to put them together & market them. It is a lot of work to save some money on one tractor..

How much would one save on container; % of savings?

Often wondered, if one buys a container, is there a way to be sure container would be sent? If not sent, how do you get $$ back?

What you save depends on what you can sell the rest of the tractors for. It also depends on the quality of the tractors, which depends a lot on who you buy them from. Some exporters have high quality tractors. Some export half junk. I've never had a problem with non delivery. The exporters don't make anything when they don't deliver, so I don't see that as problem with a legitimate dealer. There is always the possibility that you are dealing with a con, I guess. It takes a big leap of faith to send $25,000-$60,000 to some one in another country that you have never meet & wait 45-60 days to see what you bought.

Hi

In the 80s I had an occasion to purchase some electronic boards from a manufacturer of them. We did have to pay in advance. Didn't have any problems but I often wondered. They came by air and I didn't have to buy more than a dozen and still save a lot. Now, I am looking at another product and I'm thinking to take a plunge on buying from what I believe to be the actual company that makes the product. However, I haven't gone far enough into this thing to really know who I would be dealing with. In the past I remember a term like, "letter of credit" and wonder also if credit card might be of some use. A 1/2 size container would cost about $18,000 after a savings of about 2/3. Not enough to bankrupt me but I really don't want to lose $$$. Right now I'm just in the thinking stage. In my case, thinking is the start of most of my problems.

Cheers...Coffeeman
