Buying Advice Considering purchasing a New Holland Boomer 50

Hello all, I'm brand new to the group and am looking at a New Holland Boomer 50 (2013). We have about 35 acres to bush hog and wonder if this is a decent tractor and can we hook up a hay cutter and bailer at some point in the future. (30 acres of pasture 5 or so in woods, it's relatively level and rock free) Any thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated.

Hello all. I am looking at a New Holland Boomer 50 (2013). We have 30 acres of pasture to bush hog, 5 or so in woods. It's relatively level and rock free.

This is a good weight and horsepower tractor for 30 acres.
With 47-horsepower you can pull a 6' wide medium duty Bush Hog through tall grass and pretty heavy brush. If you will be mowing the pasture regularly, so it is all grass and minimal brush, you might be able to power a 7' wide light duty Bush Hog.

Hey everybody, we bought this little tractor and are now looking to source implements. Need a 6' Bush Hog and a tiller... post hole digger too. At some point we want to cut and bale hay. Any and all suggestions would be welcomed!

Boomer 50 is a LS tractor. Do you have a LS dealer around? You can probably save a few thousand $$$.

50HP is not enough for a round baler of any decent size. Are you doing small squares for horses?

The LS-made Boomers date from 2011. My family has a 2012 Boomer 50 with the synchro transmission and it's a solid tractor. You can easily run a 6' rotary cutter with one, it has enough power and weight. An 8' pull type would work for pasture clipping.

It has enough power to make small square bales but it's not a real heavy tractor, so I wouldn't try to pull a throw wagon behind your baler with one. For cutting hay, you are going to be fine for a sickle cutter, smaller drum mower, smaller disc mower, or sickle mower/conditioner (Haybine) but a disc mower conditioner (MoCo, Discbine, etc.) will take way more than 39 PTO HP. Typically those start at about 60 PTO HP and go up from there.
