computer shortcut help needed

Hi all,

I have a long email address and get tired of typing it so often. Is there a way to store it on my Desktop where its handy to cut and paste? (or any other suggestions) Thanks.

Ok try this
1) make a text document on your desktop
2) name it your email address
3) right click the document and select rename
4) right click document and copy
5) paste to whatever
You never actually rename it just click on rename.
Any of this make sense to you ?

You could download the Google tool bar. It has an Auto Fill feature for internet forms. One click and it puts all your info in the form for you. Just for the email address, you could limit the Auto Fill to just that info.

If you just want a place to store the address for easy copy and paste, type your email address in Microsoft Word or Notepad and save the file to your desktop.

Don't you have an electronic address book that you can put it in? Something like Outlook express, or any other e-mail client?

If he has internet explorer 6, under internet options / advanced, there is an in line auto complete box that can be checked...

He could also right click on his desktop and select NEW/SHORTCUT. Then, in the command line, put

mailto:name@domain.com

where name@domain.com is the e-mail address that he uses. Then follow the instructions to give it a name and save it.

Then, if he has an e-mail client installed on his PC, all he has to do is double click the desktop shortcut, it will launch a new e-mail message with the e-mail address already in the TO field. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
