Compliment to MARK HODGE and his STABLIZER BARS

/ Compliment to MARK HODGE and his STABLIZER BARS #21
When I bought my L3800, I stumbled upon some threads about the stabilizers that Mark made. I was wanting a set, but he had quit making them for a bit. I got on his list today and hopefully will have a set delivered next month.

So what does he charge for a set? Why didn't you just buy the Kubota ones?

$190 delivered. I don't know what Kubota charges, but I would expect they charge a bit more. Isn't a quart of SUDT somewhere around that price?

Everyone raved about Marks product and his character, so my money goes to him. I'll report back on how they work, the OEM turn buckles are pretty crappy.

I dropped the backhoe and hooked up the box scraper this evening for some work the next couple of days and was really wishing I had my set!

Kubota stabilizers for the L (wholegoods catalog part # L8430) are $175 list, though most dealers will discount to about $155-165. These are the ones I got for my L3200, and they will fit the L2800 / L3200 / L3301 / L3400 / L3700SU / L3800 / L3901. They come standard on Grand L models, but are optional on the basic L models.

I am sure Mark makes good stabilizers, but I have never understood why people pay more and then have to wait when the Kubota stabilizers can be bought at any dealer. I ordered mine from Messicks and had them in 2-3 days.

Not sure such an animal exists for BX model... but I could be wrong and won't be the last time.

I have a B2620. I don't know if the parts for the L would fit. Mark custom builds them to fit the particular tractor.

I didn't even bother to check Kubota, I've been too busy. I'm actually surprised they're that cheap as dry goods. I figured Mark had the dimensions and knew what was required to make a set, so no worries, I don't mind paying a couple extra bucks to help a guy out who's trying to make some extra income on the side and I'm in no hurry for them.

I think some others hit on something. I guess Mark also makes them for some of the Kubota models that don't have factory options.

You can get Kubota stabilizers for B models as well. Do a TBN search on "stabilizer" and lots of threads pop up. Here's one with a picture of the Kubota stabilizer for a B series, the guy says he paid $130 from Kubota:

From what I have read here on TBN, the B stabilizers will fit the BX as well, but I never owned a BX (just a B and an L) so I'll leave that for someone else to verify. Kubota doesn't offer them as a factory option for the BX, so they don't show up listed in the wholegoods catalog under BX.

Anyway, my point is that stabilizers are readily available from Kubota for a very fair price, going back at least 2-3 generations of B and L models. I guess that's why I have always been confused to see people paying more and waiting for custom fabricated stabilizers. :confused3:
