3-Point Hitch Compact Kubota 3 pt, hitch

Hi everybody, I'm new here so I gotta get the hang of this. I'm a farmer so I'm pretty farmiliar with equipment, but I have a not-so-knowledgeable neighbor. He has a 2011 kubota, which I believe is a B 2360 or something close to that. My question is, is there any way to lock the 3 pt. arms on that tractor so that they won't lift freely when upward pressure is put on them. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

That's normal. Tell us more about what he is doing and why he wants the arms "locked."

I don't think so.. I believe they are made to "float" by design.

I do this to keep the trailer tongue from lifting if the load shifts aft.

Probably, so don't hit the lift lever. Sometimes playing devils advocate can keep you from getting anything done.

Actually, on this 12 HP machine the pump just goes into bypass.

Will youre rate of drop control knob completly block hyd flow? Some units are better than others for that, is kind of a pain to have to do every time you go up and down but depending on the application and pressures involved sometimes locking rate all the way down will work.

Mine will prevent the arms from going down, but as far as I know, won't prevent further upward motion.

Yea, is not the same on all units. I have been around some that will stop travel both directions and some that truly only limit the drop. Was just a thought.

That is correct, none of them prevent the arms from going up. It just prevents the oil from flowing out of the single acting cylinder. Only weight and gravity will evacuate the cylinder thru the drop rate valve, which lets the oil flow back to the tank. Nothing prevents upward movement of the arms. (except that chain)

That is way to simple, it will never work.
