Most guys here are "play farmers", I have no way to know if you fit that mold or not, without bringing it up...

I stand by my post, IF you want to be serous about making money, then buy the RIGHT equipment the first time!

There's always buying used, to fit a tighter budget!

There is over a thousand acres of orchard/vineyard/veggie farms starting 1/2 mile east of me, you won't find even one compact tractor working them...

Kubota isn't the only one making narrow tractors!

True Vinyard tractors have a much skinnier footprint than regular tractors to fit down the standard row....

I checked out the sprayers you list. Might better stick to the three point version. You put that 45 behind a 4000 pound tractor on a snotty hillside and you may well end up wadded up at the bottom.

My vineyard is too big to handle by myself, you may be able to handle a 5 acre vy by yourself, if so, count yourself lucky. I have 2 tractors, both are 4wd for safety reasons, as others operate them at times. one has R4 tires, the other has R1 壮. The Ag tires tear up the cover crop between rows, and cause muddy ruts in the spring, which makes a perfect seed bed for weeds. The R4 tires are easier on the turf, but have considerably less traction on wet grass. I plant a cover crop that attracts beneficial insects in early spring, by June, it is full of blackberries and other unwanted weeds. Which is the best tire? Depends on what time of the year you ask me.

As for sprayer, I recommend a minimum of 50 gallons, bigger is better, as refilling them over and over is time consuming and inefficient.

Most/all of the vineyard tractors have more hydraulic capacity the compacts (12gpm vs. 8gpm or so). important for running hedgers and other implements. Was expecting to see compact with a shuttle shift have more implement flow than the comparable hydro. Doesn't seem to be the case? Anyone know why that is?

Because the pumps supplying oil for 3pt and auxiliary hydraulic functions typically are the same for a given model regardless of transmission type.

with that in mind, I was thinking the addition of a hydrostat would takes some of the pumps flow. guess it does not use the pump to operate (as I thought)

It uses a self contained unit with the variable piston pump and motor. The only thing that is shared is the reservoir that it's just the whole transmission case.

Do you guys have Antonio Carraro there? They do have some nice solutions for vineyard and orchard farms.

Also the SDF group, Same, Deutz and Lamborghini.
