commercial 12 PTO

Hi i just got my C12 running and hooked up the 30" mower. When I engaged it it went in fine but when I released the handle and increased the rpm it disengaged by itself, tried this a few times with the same result. Is there a spring or something to hold the lever over center???????? Any ideas appreciated

Check for loose hardware at the front.

The rod is supposed to rub against a short piece of angle iron and that keeps the PTO engaged and disengaged.

Here is a picture of the rod and angle iron with the PTO disengaged.

Below is with it engaged.

If someone straightened the shift rod, just buy a new one. It is almost impossible to draw that rod with all the different bends and angles in it. It is like drawing an oblique pretzel that has been twisted in 4 axis.
