Every time I wish I bought the Duramax, I see a thread like this and am glad I bought a gas guzzler! It may be underpowered comparatively, but they are reliable!

If it ever helps sway you, I work on duramax's less than the other 2 major manufacturers. By a lot. They are the imports of the diesel truck world, made by Isuzu. Built much differently. That's not to say they don't have problems, and sometimes when they do they can be rather nasty to someone that isn't familiar with them. For the same reason, it's more like working on an import.
