Any worries about spring wear?

You'd rather have the stuck clutch?.. and the fact that many dealers send you 'means' to block yer clutch factor into that any?

My Mitsubishi and Satoh both have the latch. Never used them and haven't had this problem so far, but I did have this problem on a 65 Mustang when I lived in Corpus Christi, TX. (humid)

That's what's happened with an old Jubilee in the family. Never used to stick, but once it started, it sticks often if not blocked. A couple of times we didn't think we could get it unstuck. It can turn into a dangerous situation fast!

This advise also goes for tractors having HST? They have a clutch, so I assume it's best to disengage it when storing, also?
I have the same question. Should I lock the clutch open on my HST when the tractor isn't used for a couple of months?

Yes, the main single clutch plate for HST transmission and or gear transmission are exactly the same and can stick the same.

Not much better, if at all. You are spot on. The clutch disc will stick to the flywheel and you won't be able to disengage.

When I replaced the clutch on my 1920 Ford, I couldn't believe the amount of rust on the clutch, flywheel and clutch plate

Another tractor myth busted! ''rusted stuck clutch'' is in FACT.........rusted.
