That's what's happened with an old Jubilee in the family. Never used to stick, but once it started, it sticks often if not blocked. A couple of times we didn't think we could get it unstuck. It can turn into a dangerous situation fast! Some never stick.. some do.. usually once one sticks.. it becomes habit..

I have the same question. Should I lock the clutch open on my HST when the tractor isn't used for a couple of months? This advise also goes for tractors having HST? They have a clutch, so I assume it's best to disengage it when storing, also?

Ditto. Thanks JC. I will lock mine open.
Not much better, if at all. You are spot on. The clutch disc will stick to the flywheel and you won't be able to disengage.
When I replaced the clutch on my 1920 Ford, I couldn't believe the amount of rust on the clutch, flywheel and clutch plate
