I just bought an M7040 and wanted to add the clevis strap to the drawbar to pull my disc with a single tongue drawbar, but Kubota doesn't show one for the M7040. Does anyone know if the M7030 drawbar has the same hole spacing to bolt the one for that tractor onto the M7040?

On Kubota.com you can go through the build-your-tractor process to find part numbers. I did just that with the M7060 and found the drawbar clevis number: M9594 - Drawbar Clevis.

I then went to the IPL and looked at the drawbar for the M7040 and M7060 and they are the same part number, so I assume the clevis works for both.

Not exactly sure about "clevis strap"...Googled it and it looks like a drawbar with a clevis-type end where the implement tongue will attach. Then a pin is dropped through to hook up.

If so, then the one on my M7040 is a two-piece construction. The regular drawbar has a couple of holes where a Z shaped (except the center line is perpendicular) is bolted on. When I bought the tractor I had to buy the extra Z.

Don't know why Kubota would change the design. Perhaps contact a dealer.

Edit: Found a listing for the part (look down the page a bit). They are expensive.

Thanks rjkobbeman. I couldn't find that number in the build your tractor, but it would be the same. That is the wholegoods number and will work through the sales department. Kubota just hasn't added it to their catalog yet.
Thanks for answering the question that three dealers couldn't!

I'm actually going to buy one for my M8540 (same part number it appears). When I special ordered my tractor, I thought about getting the clevis... but I thought it was just going to be the loop-type that you can buy anywhere (which is what I did).

Ironically, just a few days ago I revisited the subject and realized it is an actual z-shaped drawbar add-on with a big pin. I like that better. I'll be getting one soon.

Yeah, they show the z-style kit on several models, but you can only assume they will fit. The part numbers are similar.
You would think the parts departments would have run across this and known that they needed to get it from the sales department OR that one of the kits from another model fit

GW, I had tried 3 dealers, including Messick's. Nowadays, if it isn't readily available in the parts computer, no one has a clue and no efforts are made beyond the initial search. The drawbar is made for a clevis as you saw.
And yes, the clevis is the Z shape or spaced top (or bottom) strap that makes up the clevis on a drawbar. I hate to assume that one will fit another as 1/4" off on the holes and it is useless. I did search as well and found the one you found. Thanks for your efforts.

Annnnnnd... once again I've learnt something via TBN. I had no idea what you were referring to, so I 'googled' clevis & hammerstrap. I've got a straight drawbar that I simply drop a big pin into when utilising it so now I know that it's a clevis pin. It looks like a 'Z' (pronounced Zed, down here :)) drawbar is required if you're going to switch to the hammer type.

I used to refer to it as the 'BFP'.

Annnd yes, zed, I forget that too! Hammer type meaning the single tongue on the implement, therefore hammerstrap, yes? When I was in business, I know it was reffered to by both terms. Hammerstrap probably from English Fords.
