Sorry but that's not dirty. Show us a picture of the bx stuck past the axles in mud and the L towing it out while spinning its wheels!

I had the L in mud upto it's front axle and the rears pretty deep a while back . I have a spot were the ground is always soft and muddy. You can see it compress as the tractor drives across it. I don't think the BX had been in the mud yet.

I side with 94BULLITT I was taught years and years ago by my Dad to take good care of my tools and they will take care of me. All my tools, mower, tractor, cars etc are kept clean. Hand tools are wiped down before they are neatly put away, chain saws and power tools are blown out with compressed air. One plus with motorized tools is that you can quickly see leaks or worn parts. Once the habit is started its not hard to follow.

I was told NOT to use a pressure washer on my BX by several different dealerships. Especially around any articulating joint with seals and lubrication. I would think that you could use it if you used a low pressure and were cautious about WHERE you directed the spray. Should be ok for the wheels shouldnt it? Reason I am asking is... I am planning on using my pressure washer also. Just wanted another opinion.

It ain't dirty if you can tell what color it is. I take great care mechanically, and physically but not cosmetically. Straight sheet metal and solid mechanicals but not clean on the outside.

I should devote 1 day a year to cleaning up at least some of them like you have. Nice work.

I was also taught to take care of my equipment. Not by my dad, but by my grandfather and my older brother.
I washed and waxed my 2003 BX2230D Saturday after doing a bunch of routine maintenance on it. This included pulling the bucket off and cleaning all all the pins of old grease then put it back together with new grease. I also installed a new set of "Gator" blades on the deck and greased it. It won't stay this clean for long! I mow along a big ditch that is always muddy and the tractor looks like it's been in a mud pull when i'm done!

Still, it does not look too bad to be 10 years old and 901 hours on the clock...

Nice work 94, your machines look great.

I hose mine down periodically, but nothing special. It might be pointless to wax scratched, rusted paint anyway.

Your BX looks good for being 10 years old and 900hrs. Let me know how you like the gator blades.

Thanks crashz.

I will mow with the Gators Blades for the first time tomorrow or Thursday depending on the weather. I mow about 2 1/2 acres of field fescue (built house on old pasture land). I let it get about 5-6 inches tall then mow it to 3.5 inches. The OEM blades leave a lot of material on top of the grass. I'm hoping the Gators will mulch that up a bit more. Wondering if I need to block the discharge chute to make the work better?

They claim they mulch without the discharge blocked. I have heard the gator blades stripe more.
