Cleaning Snap couplings

My snap couplings have a fair amount of dirt and oil around the outer sleeves and bearing. Was thinking of spraying w/ brake or carb cleaner. Any damage risk or am I going overboard?

Are you talking about the QD's (quick-disconnects or quick couplers?) If so, then spray some WD-40 on them, it cleans them real well.

The o-rings in your couplers are made of nitrile. Brake cleaner and carb cleaner have chemicals which attack nitrile. Take kenny's advice, Wd.
