I am looking to trade my JD 1070 for something with a bit smaller footprint but still keep most of the HP. All of my implements are 6ft and I don't want to have to reinvest. Can a CK35HST handle a 6ft bush hog (mainly pasture mowing and light brush) and a 6ft box blade?

Thanks!

Greg,

I have a Kubota L3130, 31HP, 25 PTO HP, and it handles a 6' boxblade just fine. I have a 5' hog and no problem in tall thick grass. I would think the CK35 would handle the 6'hog with no problem ( I assume the CK35 is 35HP).

Where are you looking at the Kioti? We don't have a lot of dealers around here. I know there is one on Hwy 18 South where Hwy 27 intersects in Lincoln County, westendsales.com .

Westend was where I was gonna check. Heard anything good or bad about them?

The CK35, 34hp, 27.6 pto hp gear, and 26.5 for hst, should handle the 6ft implements without a problem. My CK30hst, 4hp less, will run a 6ft hog unless the grass or brush is very high and thick and then I just slow down a bit. I use a 6ft back blade with no problem but a box blade needs a little more. Other members have run a 6 footer and don't seem to have a problem. You just might not be able to dig in as deep as with a bigger tractor. If you have R4 tires, the width is 53 inches and you'd want the 6 footer anyways.

I have not heard good or bad. I have talked with them and test drove a Kioti and they came off the price rather quickly. They also carry MF and seem to be priced competative. They have been a Kioti and MF dealer for several years now which was my only concern when I first looked at Kioti...how long would they carry them...but they seem to move a few and have had the line 5-10 years.

The other Kioti dealer is in Lenoir on Hwy 321 South ( close to the Kubota dealer). They are located at the old Tarheal Tractor dealership. I have not been by this one and not sure of the management. It is called Caldwell Tractor or Caldwell County Tractor.

Seems you should be able to get a good deal at Marion Equipment on a Kubota. Not that Kubota is any better but they are close to you.

Hey...shouldn't you be teaching now!

I should be, but I had a Dr appointment on this pretty day...yeah, a Dr appointment!

I've been impressed with what I've seen with MF...I am gonna check them out too. Marion Equipment is my fall back...they are good to work with but I'm not quite sold on kubota yet...don't get me wrong, I like kubota fine, just not sure which direction I want to go. It's all dependent on whether I can get what I want for my JD 1070.

I agree with the crowd. That 35hp should handle the 6' hog just fine as long as you're not going across the mountain with it! You'll probably just have to slow down in real thick grass.
I don't think you'll go wrong dealing with Reggie at Caldwell Tractor or Gary at West End. I've known them for years and they're good people.
