Hey just thought I would post to see if anyone else was having a similar problem....

here's the deal CK30 Gear with shuttle shift, 260hrs....with the pto engaged (brush hog) in small areas when i have to go back and forth the machine gets stuck in reverse which is a pain in the butt! I thought it was the slack in the linkage at first or that knuckle in the linkage, but after adjusting and lubricating, the problem still exists.

in order to get it to shift (even to neutral) I have to disengage the pto, throttle down to idle, manually rev the motor, then it will shift. any ideas?

thanks
Dave:confused2:

I havent had that problem at 285 hours. The pedal centralizer piston got a bit sticky but some silicone spray fixed that ok. It was just a bit slow to return to neutral when I took my foot off the shuttle pedal. Sorry I can't help mate.

Have you checked clutch pedal free-play:confused: About one inch, that's pretty much the only thing that comes to mind.

Thanks for the replies! it continues to happen, i have a feeling its something simple. with the warranty expired, I just hope its nothing internal.

I'll check that free play on the clutch linkage, also theres play in the shuttle linkage, do you happen to know how much belongs there? it seems to have alot to do with high rpm (maybe vibration related?)

thanks again

:):):) I knew it was something completely simple.

behind the service panel under the dash theres a notch that the shuttle lever sits in and at the bottom of the vertical portion of the linkage a cup that the rod sits in.....basically loaded up both those parts with grease and mystery solved! so far so good no more shuttle problem
