Dirt Moving Ck30 Pto engagement

So I’m trying to engage the pto on my 5 brush hog, and it shifts hard. What am I doing wrong? The clutch has no bearing on how it engages.

You need to push the clutch all the way down - wait a few sec. and put steady pressure on the lever for the gears to mesh . That's for 540 rpm . 1000 rpm should be locked out !

I had the clutch floored. No difference. I’m going to see about adjusting the clutch tomorrow.

Is this a gear tractor with a 2stage clutch or an Hst?
