Checked out a new CK20 gear yesterday. When the dealer took it out, it was grinding with every shift while on the go. He said this was normal. I tried it and the same thing happened. Was off in a hurry. I tried the 1914 and the CK25 (both gear) they were both very smooth. Any experience out there on the CK20 shifting. I'm assuming you must come to a stop before shifting. I did ask the question prior to testing and was told to shift on the go.

CK 20 gear is the only model that is not sychronized. 1st and reverse is sychronized on this model but not 1-2-3. You MUST come to a stop. The other models are all sychronized 1-2-3-4 and the shuttle.
LB1914 and LK3054 are non-synchronized shuttles also.

Please call you dealer and tell him to learn a little about his equipment. Shift on the go in a non-synchro gear? The grinding should have told him not to do that.

If the dealer didn't know that you had to stop when you shift, which should be basic knowledge to the dealer, then you might consider another Kioti dealer. He is supposed to be able to show/explain the basic operations of the tractors to the people who buy them. How's he going to explain something more complicated?

I dont' know that the CK20 was a non-synchro. Is any of the other Kiotis 40 hp or under non-synchro?

nope..... the CK20 is the lone one..... i have no idea why they did not put a shuttle in it....

Thanks Jon. I had always assumed and you know what happens when you assume, that they were all Synchro. If they did put a shuttle on the CK20, it would make a really good tractor even better.

Jerry it's just synched between reverse and first.
I'm surprised they didn't make it like the other models with synchronized main gears.

Also, the shuttle on the 1914 is not synchronized, but manual.

Thanks John. The way they are going, they will more than likely change it at the next complete update.

thanks for clearing up the shifting on the CK20. I'll be in touch with this dealer shortly. If I decide on this tractor, I'll be sure to buy one from the warehouse. Just to be clear on the 1914.Must you stop before shifting?? It did shift like it was synchro. Thanks

the main gears on the LB1914 are syncro..... you can shift on the go by clutching.... however when you use the shuttle you must be at a stop....

Just pick up some brochures for the CK20 and the LB1914. the CK20 (gear) reads Synchro/Constant. LB1914 reads Full Synchomesh w/ Mechanical Shuttle. All of this means What?? Thanks to all that replied.

........ but if you have a REALLY fast left leg and arm you could do the 'ol "double clutch" thing /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif. I only got it to work a couple of times when I owned my CK20 gear and that was on a down hill where the tractor wouldn't lose speed, could never do it on flat ground /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Jon, can you explain how the mechanical shuttle shift works on the LB1914. (instead of asking dealer) thanks
