2014 Kioti CK35 2015 CS2410
Hi Everyone
Just replaced my 80's kubota L275 with a 2015 Kioti CK35 what a difference! easier starting much faster loader and great backhoe.
One thing i noticed is that the hydraulic filter hangs down quite low and i will be using it in the woods for some fire wood logging and worried about ripping it off. I already dented the end of it with the backhoe frame.
Has anyone made up a shield for theirs? Any ideas would be great.
Thanks
JB

Hi. Welcome.

That old L has another 20 years in it.:)

That filter on the CK looks like it is in a tough spot to add a shield. Maybe some 4 inch angle iron placed in front and back of it to shield it.

I did knock mine right off once. I was bogged and put a ramp down to drive onto. The ramp skidded back and next thing there is oil everywhere. I haven't made a guard for it yet but I am very aware of it.

Have you tried a site wide search? Use various terms like skid plate, belly pan, etc

A year back or so, someone put a belly plate on theirs. I think they fabricated it out of diamond plate and went with some longer bolts at existing points to mount.

Looks great pekan!
I have mine mostly done both the frame and base plate are finished just need to make up the sides then paint it up pretty. I went with the filter trap door that I had seen on some other ones. Had a challenge keeping it up tight to miss the backhoe frame.

Is it possible to relocate the filter altogether?
Not great placement to begin with.

It would be hard to move with all of the hard lines holding it. One of the lines comes out of the base of the transmission.

I think Michigan Iron used to make and sell a protective shield for that filter. Might want to check them. I've seen other homemade versions from expanded metal.

Finally got the finished product all painted up and installed. Found a color that matched pretty well it was RAL 7021 Black Gray. I used a epoxy paint so hopefully it will hold up well. I was able to bolt into 3 different locations one just below the rops bolts on the rear, 2 bolts into the transmission and into the backhoe brackets. Should be able to lift the tractor with it now!
