CK 2610 Starting Issue

It does sound like a fuel thing. Perhaps you have one or more loose delivery lines to injectors allowing fuel to bleed back out. Maybe you have injectors not closing completely. Perhaps your fuel filter is a bit loose. Regardless, it sounds as though you're losing prime somewhere and having to pump fuel back into the lines. You could try cranking without the glow plugs to prime it. Then light the glow plugs and see if it's any better.
This. I had a similar problem on my work truck. Had to get a couple tows because there truck would slowly quit from no fuel and wouldn't start. Long story short, when I was using the fuel primer I heard some hissing from a couple fittings of the fuel system. I pointed them out to our 'mechanics.' They tightened them, low and behold I didn't have that problem again.

Good luck.

Just to add an update. I noticed that it's not as bad if the fuel tank is full, which leads me to believe that is is a vacuum leak. Now, recently the symptom has gone away. I don't know why.

I will add an update also. Changed all fluids and filters at 200 hours. Problem has since gone away. Not sure if fuel filter was restricting flow or ???? but no issues now.

I wonder if the fuel filter wasn't right and was just letting just enough air in to lose prime.

That's good to know. My CK 2610 is doing the same thing. Ordered all new filters and will see how that goes.

How hard was your tractor to prime after filter replacement? Last time I changed, it took forever to prime and start again.

If you fill the filter prior to installing you should have no issues - my Kubota. JD and now the Kioti all fired right up after the filter exchange, I filled them, If they had a primer I'd hit it once or twice turn the key and they fired -

I had the exact same problem with my 2610. Filled the filter before installing, primed using the pump etc. the owner’s manual is not much help unlike older tractor manuals.
There is a valve on top if the filter assembly that is a screw in valve. Open the valve a couple of turns, then pump the primer until diesel comes out around the valve. Then close the valve tight by turning it clockwise.
After I did this (after researching it on you tube), it has started first time, every time, no stalls no loss of power.

I'll give that a try. I opened that valve the other day and pumped it. Just air came in and out. I'll try to pump it till fuel comes out and see if that fixes my issue.
