Choosing a Control Valve for Rear Remotes

I was very lucky to find these two valves at the scrap yard recently. I have been studying valves but am not confident enough to make a new purchase. The blue one, a Vickers is tagged “good take off” the black Husco appears to be unused.

I need open center control to operate top, tilt and scarifier cylinders for a scraper box on my JD 110TLB.

The black Husco seems to have no detent on one of the spools. The spool slides evenly through the stroke with no interference. Is this a defect or possibly intended for some application?

I would very much appreciate any help in confirming if any of these control valves are suitable for this. Thanks to all for any help.

Why not just buy a simple two spool valve? I added this one to my Kubota and it works great.

I presume the Husco valve was a spring center spool where you either push or pull and it returns to center or home position. This is common but what you don’t know on either valve is the type of spool nor if those are open center or closed center valve assemblies. Could be cylinder or motor spool.

Are any of the ports labeled on those valve stacks?

Valves also look like would have a flow capacity significantly greater than what you require.

Looks like a 110 TLB should flow 23.6 gpm.

Yes, I may do that however I could not resist these valves at $4 for both. The 3 spool valve from Summit is over $360.

Yes, I think the flow is sufficient on either valve.

On both valves, when I blow into what I presume is the T or P ports my breath flows freely. Is it safe to assume these are open center?

What has me suspicious about the Husco is one of the spools. It does not have a detent nor is it spring loaded The spool slides freely. It stays in position where it was last moved to.

If you blow into the P port where does the air exhaust at? I don’t smoke but this is an area where if you blow smoke into a port it makes it easier to see where it comes out. Then have to look for any identifying marks by those ports.

That is concerning, not sure what type of spool control that would be.

The Vickers valve has no data plate, only numbers cast into the body

The Husco is a series 5000 but the configuration numbers are proprietary so no help there. I can't make out the letters and numbers below the Vickers emblem.
That might be the model designation.
