Chipper Chipper help

I am just buying a new JD 4500 and wondering if it will handle a chipper for 25 acres of cedar. Does anyone have experience with chippers? Whats the best brand, etc. The trees range from very small to around 8" trunks. I can always burn the huge trees and chip the smaller ones but I don't want a light duty. Also, PTO or should I just get a stand alone?

I have a Valby CH160 chipper with hydraulic feed. See attachment. If you get a chipper make sure it has hydraulic feed. I have used this chipper on about 6 trees mostly apple and a few maple. If it fits in the opening it can chip it. What is nice about the hydraulic feed is that you can start and stop the feed, works best on the large stuff. I did stall the tractor on a 6" apple trunk, it was real notty and I didn't stop the feed when the engine lugged. I have a lot of chipping to do also, eventually about 15 acres. This summer about 2 to 3 acres. I do not no much about the self powered units. I know for me (having the chipper on the tractor) I can put the chipper almost anywhere. The self power units need to be pulled or backed in. Let me know if you got more questions.

I had a nice day didn't do a thing! Tried to catch up on TBN reading, bad weather doesn't keep you guys {and gal(s)} from posting. Between Monday and Satrurday I worked about 70 hours and 15 more hours on the NH2120 hour meter. Ended up with 3ft of snow and a lot of drifting. Went to my parents house for dinner to night, on my way home (half way) some kid flipped his car on his roof. Back to the shop to get the wrecker! Dam it never ends! Summer is out there some where, isn't it.

Thanks works great! Cost, I'm not 100% sure was a package deal with tractor, cab, loader, backhoe. I guess it to be around 5K to 5.5K. It is a commercial grade chipper, easy to sharpen the knives and has hydraulic feed (a must have). As far as hp go not sure, book is at the shop. My 43hp handles it no problem. That's what's nice about the hyd. feed you can control how much it bites. I'll look at the specs tomorrow.

How you make out with the snow? You probably posted it somewhere. I'm trying to catch up on a few weeks of posts!
