What does this vehicle have that was not already on the first generation Prius in 2000 ? Do you not think that 11 years is a long enough time for mechanics to prepare for this day ? Very little will probably have to be worked on, except the new battery (and software), since the motors are brushless and it should be a long time before the bearings give out.
I don't want to get the thread closed. Success in politics these days means you hand over public money to your friends and supporters whether it makes sense to the taxpayers or represents good public policy. But let's not go into prohibited territory.
$40k for an electric car? I don't think there is anybody around here with the first clue how to work on it. Take it to the electric company and have them service it?
